RECORDS MANAGEMENT SECTION

The Records Management Section is responsible for storage and retrieval of the Navajo Nation Executive and Legislative Branch employee records. Information in an employee's personnel file is considered confidential. However, the information may be disclosed in compliance with a lawful investigation or subpoena. Access to and release of information contained in the personnel records shall be limited to only those persons who have a legally recognized need to know.

Employee records shall include information such as:

  • employment applications
  • background check final determination notice
  • letters of reference
  • pay and benefits
  • training and education
  • performance evalutations
  • corrective or termination actions
  • and other necessary information as specified by the DPM

In addtion, the Records Management Section is also responsible for verifying employment information in accordance with the Navajo Nation Privacy Act and Navajo Nation Personnel Policies Manual (NNPPM).
